Here come ....THE KOSMOS
Formed in 2005 by Andrew Crayford (Lead singer & Rhythm Guitarist) and Jonathan Armstrong (Keyboards & Cello), with Dave Carmichael (Lead Guitar), Toryn Westcott (Bass Guitar) joining in 2006, and Roy Phillips (Drums) completing the line-up in 2007, their music is a welcome blast of melodic uplifting, infectious harmonies that will invade your brain and stay there.
With uncompromisingly heartfelt and honest lyrics from the pen of Andrew Crayford they dig at the emotions and strike familiar chords. Never afraid to tell it like it all too often is, The Kosmos are all about creating timeless perfectly crafted songs that wont be lost in the crowd of manufactured soundalikes, songs that mean as much to you as they do them...songs you cant and wont forget.
Just as their name suggests The Kosmos embrace a universe of music genres and an equally broad range of influences from The Doors to the Artic Monkeys, old and new, they combine the best of both worlds and refuse to work to a formula .
Forget pidgeon holes with this band. They shun the confines of such labels, seamlesly moving from pop to rock, from acoustic to indie as each track demands.
Whether its the anthemic arm waving infectious pop of 'So in love', the haunting acoustic longing of 'Evelyn', the raw anger and energy of 'Comedown', or the quiet strength and emotion of 'Silent Body language'...each song has in common a fearless emotion and sincerity which is ever present in their music .
All in all the kosmos are a rare breed as far as todays bands go. Always approachable to their ever increasing worldwide fanbase The Kosmos are that seldom found thing....a band who value their fans feedback, and play real music for real people.
